Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your residence in Arusha and begin a 4–5 hour journey to Lake Natron, traveling through remote Maasai villages and rugged landscapes of the Great Rift Valley.
Along the way, you may spot wildlife while enjoying views of the dramatic Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano rising above the valley.
Upon arrival at Lake Natron, a local guide will accompany you, as visits to the lake are only permitted with an official guide.
You will explore the lake on foot, admiring the striking scenery and observing large flocks of flamingos that gather along the alkaline waters.
In the evening, you will enjoy sunset at Lake Natron, when flamingos are most active, before returning to your accommodation to rest before the night climb.

🚙 Return journey to Arusha
After a few hours of rest, you will wake up around 11:00 PM and travel to the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai, where you will meet your mountain guide.
You will begin an incredible 5–6 hour ascent during the night, aiming to reach the summit in time for sunrise.
From the top, you will witness spectacular panoramic views across the Great Rift Valley, the salt flats of Lake Natron, the Kenyan border, and even Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
After descending from the volcano, you will have time to refresh and rest before beginning the return journey to Arusha, marking the end of your adventure.
