Day 1

Marangu Gate → Mandara Huts

Day Highlights

The journey begins with a drive from Arusha to Marangu Gate, where registration takes place.

You start trekking through lush rainforest, surrounded by dense vegetation and wildlife. The trail can be muddy and slippery, so proper gear is recommended.

Dinner and overnight at Mandara Huts.

Day 2

Mandara Huts → Horombo Huts

After breakfast, you leave the rainforest and continue through open moorland landscapes.

You’ll enjoy panoramic views and stop for lunch along the way before reaching Horombo Huts, located beneath Kibo Peak.

Day 3

Horombo Huts → Kibo Huts

The trail continues through a semi-desert landscape, crossing the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo.

You’ll reach Kibo Huts, where you rest and prepare for the summit attempt later that night.

Day 4

Kibo Huts → Summit → Horombo Huts

🌌 Midnight summit attempt
🌅 Sunrise at Uhuru Peak
🏆 Reach Africa’s highest point

Your summit push begins at midnight.

You climb steep trails toward Gilman’s Point, then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m).

After celebrating at the summit, you descend back to Horombo Huts for rest.

Day 5

Horombo Huts → Marangu Gate → Moshi

Day Highlights

🌿 Final descent through rainforest
🎉 Receive summit certificate
🚿 Return to hotel and relax

After breakfast, you descend through rainforest trails to Marangu Gate, where you receive your certificate.

Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi.
