Day 1

Arusha → Momella Gate → Miriakamba Hut

Day Highlights

🦒 Wildlife encounters from the start
🌿 Forest trekking with river crossings
🥾 Strong start with steady ascent

Your adventure begins with a short transfer to Momella Gate, the entrance to Arusha National Park.

From the very first steps, this trek feels different — you hike through open plains where giraffes, buffalo, and antelope may be seen.

The trail then leads into dense forest, crossing the Ngare Nanyuki River, before continuing steadily uphill to Miriakamba Hut, where you spend the night.

Day 2

Miriakamba Hut → Saddle Hut

Day Highlights

🌄 Rapid altitude gain
🏔️ Views of Meru crater and cliffs
🌅 Optional Little Meru hike

After breakfast, you continue your ascent through forest and heathland.

The trail becomes steeper, and the environment changes as you gain altitude. You’ll begin to see the dramatic crater walls of Mount Meru.

Upon arrival at Saddle Hut, you can take an optional hike to Little Meru for incredible sunset views and better acclimatization before summit night.

Day 3

Saddle Hut → Summit → Momella Gate

Day Highlights

🌌 Midnight summit attempt
🌅 Sunrise at Socialist Peak (4,566m)
🏆 Long descent back through diverse landscapes

Your summit push begins in the early hours of the morning.

You climb toward Rhino Point, then follow a narrow ridge toward the summit. This section is both physically and mentally demanding.

At sunrise, you reach Socialist Peak, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views and, on clear days, see Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.

After celebrating, you descend all the way back to Momella Gate, passing through multiple ecosystems in a single day.

A transfer will take you back to Arusha or the airport.
